Job Summary: The Case Manager is responsible for assessing the needs of each assigned child. The Case Manager completes extensive paperwork required by the contract, conducts screenings and assessments, and works with all external partners involved, including government agencies and consulate officials. The Case Manager will need to travel frequently by vehicle or airplane to visit clients homes.
Salem Location:
Office base location is in beautiful downtown Salem, a short drive to I-5 and many amazing restaurants. A walk away from Bushs Pasture Park. While these positions are remote based, the office environment is set up for office functions as needed, team building and a base to work from with the team!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct home visits and phone contacts with the dual purpose of assessing safety and appropriateness of childs placement with the UCs sponsor, and connecting UC to services in the community to address risk factors.
- Perform ongoing case management with a focus on screening and making appropriate referrals to address childs needs in the following domains: placement issues, safety issues, education, health, mental health, legal/immigration proceedings, substance abuse, independent living, juvenile/criminal justice and child enrichment activities.
- Provide crisis intervention services directly, as needed, or connect family to services to ensure minors safety and well-being in a crisis situation.
- Submit detailed and thorough documentation in accordance with agency and ORR requirements.
- Utilize social work best practices for thorough assessments of a UCs progress and services provided.
- Carries a case load varying on program need (Staff-to-case ratios for Post Release Services Case Managers will establish caseloads of 1:25 but may with ORRs permission have a case load not to exceed 1:40)
- Completes Notice of Concerns (NOCs), per federal policy requirements.
- Maintain case file documentation in accordance with ORR requirements, and conducts internal chart reviews to monitor documentation compliance
- Participate in team meetings, staff in-service training and department meetings.
- Completes, timely and accurate timesheets and other personnel/administrative records as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices.
- Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to equity and inclusion in the workplace; model appropriate behaviors; develop, recommend, and implement improvements to business practices with awareness and understanding of the impact in a trauma-informed and culturally diverse organization.

Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Social Work (BSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other behavioral science equivalent.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English, written, read and verbal
- Attained age 21 years or older before first day of employment in position (ORR)
Preferred Position Qualifications
- Experience working with immigrant populations
- Knowledgeable about family preservation, kinship care, and/or general child welfare
- Experience writing professional, thorough assessment reports.
- ORR experience
- Knowledge of Federal, State and agency regulations.
- Knowledge of adolescent developmental issues, trauma, abuse and neglect, substance abuse and dependence, delinquency, peer influence, and related group and individual interventions.
Other Requirements:
- Able to work shift hours and days, as assigned. Position may require work outside of usual work hours on occasion.

- Meet agency driving requirements.
- Remote position, but requires travel multiple days per week including flying and/or driving
