A Day In The Life of a Chief Pilot

The position you are applying for Oversees Flight Operations ensuring aircraft are operated to the highest level of safety and that all crew members always maintain professional standards. To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties of The Chief Pilot

• Leads, manages, and directs pilots and Base Chief Pilots to ensure the highest standards of safety, efficiency, professionalism and quality of Flight Operations
• s or counseling as appropriate to ensure the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of Flight Operations
• Coordinates with the Director of Operations to establish and adhere to appropriate training standard sand scheduling
• Assists in the development and maintenance ofpany s policies, procedures and other publications
• Ensures that allpany pilots conform to standards as outlined in the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations,pany policies and perform to the level of standards outlined by the Company’s training program
• Investigates inents and proes corrective action, if necessary, to crew members failing to perform to standards
• Proes leadership and collaboration with other departments to ensurepliance with Federal Aviation Regulations andpany policy and procedures
• Knowledgeable of the contents of all manuals associated with Flight Operations
• Acts as a liaison with the FAA regarding infractions or and regulatory issues
• Promotes an environment focusing on Pilot professional development, while fostering the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment
• Screens, interviews, and makes rmendations for hiring potential pilots, as required
• Coaches and proes leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of Pilots
• Appraises performance, proes performance feedback, takes corrective actions and oversees training and development of pilots
• Performs special projects or other duties as assigned or required
• Acts as Manager on Duty, as required
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management,
• Possess the stamina needed to work long days with frequent change in temperatures, climate and weather conditions
• Travel up to 20% of the time, including nights, weekends, hoays, and overnight stays

Experience:

• PIC: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• 1st Class Medical (Required)
• Pilot License (Required)
