A caregiver in this position works 8:30AM - 5:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for experimental studies.
• Perform technical lab duties.
• Schedule and perform various analyses.
• Assist with establishing and scheduling various procedures and analyses.
• Prepare reagents, purify chemicals, and identify, separate and quantify various substances.
• Conduct testing and procedures utilizing laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Accumulate data from analyses.
• Prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables, publications, grant proposals and applications for research forms.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment OR an associates degree in a laboratory science field and 1 year of work experience OR a bachelors degree

Preferred Qualifications include:

• Hands-on experience in wet lab techniques and animal handling

• Bachelors degree (or higher) in biomedical or biological sciences

• Minimum two-year commitment to the laboratory is strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
• Ability to distinguish color
• Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment
• Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds
• May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range: $18.88 - $28.80 / hour

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. While the pay range is displayed as an hourly rate, Cleveland Clinic recruiters will clarify whether the compensation is hourly or salary. A successful candidates actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidates work history, experience, skill set, and education.
