The Role:
- Location: Bismarck, ND
- Specialty: Interventional Radiology (Radiology - Interventional)
- Unit: Interventional Radiology
- Assignment type: Travel
- Assignment duration: Start ASAP - ongoing coverage for 2026/2027. Typical engagement listed as 91 days.
- Shift Type: Days. Typical on-site hours 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM with evening call 4:00 PM - 8:00 AM, and 24-hour call on weekends.
- Number of positions: 1
- On-call structure: Evening call weekdays; 24-hour weekend call. Weekday callbacks average ~2.5 hours; weekend callbacks average ~1.3 hours.
- Average procedures during an 8-hour on-site day: Varies, generally 10-15 cases.
- EMR/Charting System: Epic
- Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days
- Orientation: Example orientation window noted (subject to final scheduling): 8/12 8:00 AM-3:00 PM; 8/13 8:00 AM - 8/18 8:00 AM
Required Qualifications & Credentials:
- Board Certification: Board Certified (Required)
- State License: North Dakota license highly preferred. IMLC required if ND license is not active.
- Residency/Fellowship: IR residency or fellowship (Required)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS (Required)
- Malpractice: Clean malpractice history preferred; malpractice coverage is required as part of assignment terms.
- Availability: Must be available at time of name clear (Required)
- Self-Query: NPDB self-query report must be dated within 30 days of the presentation date (Required)
- Procedure experience: Must have experience with the full list of required IR procedures (see below). Submission must include a procedure list using 'Yes' or 'No' responses indicating which procedures the provider has completed; include this in the note section of the submission.

- Diagnostic vascular intervention / Angiography (venous and arterial)
- Therapeutic vascular intervention / Angioplasty (venous and arterial)
- Stenting (venous and arterial)
- Thrombolytic therapy
- Embolization therapy
- Interventional body (non-neuro)
- Vascular access devices / PICC lines
- Central line / Port-a-cath insertions
- IVC filters
- TIPS
- Aspiration / drainage procedures
- Percutaneous needle biopsies (above & below diaphragm, and bone)
- Extractions (biliary, renal)
- Abscess drainage
- Thoracentesis, Paracentesis
- Myelography
- Pain management procedures (joint/epidural injections, vertebroplasty)
- Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram
- Blood patch
- Arthrograms
- Chest tube insertion
- Uterine artery embolization
- Liver Y90 / TACE
- Gastrostomy tube insertion
- Nephrostomy / ureteral stent insertion
- Renal fistulograms
- Cryoablation
Preferred (but not required): Neuro (head) stroke thrombectomy capability - preferred but secondary to proficiency in the general IR procedure list.
Practice Details / Notes:
- Provider will not be required to read diagnostics in between IR cases.
- Provider must be able to perform the general IR procedures listed above; stroke capability is preferred but not required.
- Reason for coverage: Gap in schedule / ongoing coverage need for 2026/2027.
- Travel preferences: Will accept providers who require a flight; lodging per MSA guidelines.
- Billing/enrollment: Standard credentialing and enrollment paperwork required prior to start.
