WHO WE ARE
Back Home Hospitality is a growing San Francisco-based restaurant group behind Che Fico, Via Aurelia, Bubbelah, Che Fico Pizzeria, and Che Fico Parco Menlo. We build restaurants rooted in craft, driven by people, and designed to endure. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a corporate-level finance professional who brings discipline, precision, and a proactive approach to financial management across our portfolio.
THE ROLE
This position sits at the corporate level and carries responsibility for the financial health and oversight of Back Home Hospitality's accounting and finance function. The Finance Manager will oversee our purpose-built back-office platform, which manages bookkeeping, financial reporting, cash flow, and tax compliance, ensuring its outputs are accurate, timely, and actionable.
In addition to platform oversight, this role is responsible for financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management across all BHH concepts. The Finance Manager will work in close partnership with our Managing Partners and department leadership, with defined escalation paths to ownership on major financial decisions. This is a high-visibility corporate role suited to a detail-oriented professional who is equally comfortable in the numbers and in cross-functional conversations.
For a candidate with strong financial foundations who is looking to deepen their experience within a growing, multi-concept hospitality organization, this role offers meaningful responsibility and a clear path for advancement.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Back-office oversight & platform management
Own the day-to-day relationship with our accounting and finance back-office platform - review outputs, ensure accuracy, and manage the vendor relationship
Serve as the internal point of escalation when discrepancies or irregularities arise in financial reporting
Ensure all reporting - weekly P&Ls, monthly financials, and cash flow forecasts - is complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule
Manage relationships with external accountants, banking partners, and insurance providers
Financial modeling & forecasting
Build and maintain revenue, labor, and COGS models across all BHH concepts, as well as prospective opportunities
Develop rolling forecasts and scenario analyses that provide ownership with clear, decision-ready insights
Identify trends and variances in financial performance and proactively surface findings to leadership
Maintain ongoing visibility into cash flow across the group and flag potential issues in advance
Budgeting & performance management
Support the annual budget development process across all concepts and departments
Participate in P&L reviews with ownership and directors, ensuring clarity, accountability, and follow-through
Partner with department heads to build financial literacy and promote ownership of budget performance
Monitor performance against established targets and maintain discipline around deadlines and deliverables
Cross-functional partnership
Collaborate with the HR function on compensation planning, bonus structures, and headcount budgeting - without direct ownership of HR operations
Work alongside operations, culinary, bars, and events leadership on cost control initiatives and budget accountability
Support ownership and legal counsel on major contracts, leases, and capital commitments
Ensure all entities remain current on licensing, insurance, permitting, and financial compliance requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Strong analytical skills with the ability to build and interpret financial models. Capable of presenting complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Highly organized and deadline-oriented. Able to manage multiple priorities, follow through on open items, and hold others accountable without prompting.
An interest in the hospitality industry and an understanding of how restaurant businesses operate, including the relationship between revenue, labor, and food cost.
Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
3-6 years of relevant financial experience, or an MBA with strong analytical foundations. Experience in multi-unit hospitality or food & beverage is a plus, but not required. CPA not required; proficiency in Excel and financial modeling is expected.
