BenefitsThe Director of Medical Surgical Services is responsible for the oversight and direction of business activity within the medical‑surgical/telemetry areas. The role demonstrates 24‑hour responsibility for personnel, operations, patient experience, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating economic growth, fiscal responsibility, and quality of the business‑related scope, whether clinical or non‑clinical. The leader collaborates with senior management to develop, set, implement, monitor, and evaluate standards of care and practice. The director participates or leads assigned community, hospital, nursing, and medical committees, promotes collaborative relationships among the medical staff, volunteers, nursing, the community, and other departments within the system, demonstrates practices that promote the mission and vision of UHS and Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, and demonstrates service excellence at all times, along with other duties as assigned.
