Winter's Jazz club, a top-notch Live Jazz club in the Streeterville neighborhood (2 blocks West of Navy Pier), seeks a friendly, professional, highly efficient cocktail server/bartender who thrives on providing an exceptional guest experience.
Ideally we seek a candidate who has at least 2 years of serving experience and 2 years of bartending experience (with beer, cocktail and wine knowledge) and who is willing to be scheduled in either role as needed. We ask for minimum availability of 2-3 days per week on average. We provide an excellent, friendly, team-oriented working environment and we seek a special person with hustle to round out our existing excellent, close-knit team. Typical shifts are 5-6 hours and sidework is minimal since we don't offer food.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Deliver excellent customer service in a friendly, efficient manner
● Accurately record and enter all beverage items into Square POS system
● Maximize sales by using menu knowledge and suggestive selling techniques
● Complete assigned duties and side-work within each shift, including daily cash handling close out procedures
● Check guest identification to avoid serving alcoholic beverages to underage guests
● Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all co-workers and supervisors.
● Handle all guest service issues in an immediate and professional manner.
Education and Work Experience ● High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bar/nightlife/hospitality experience required.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
• ServSafe/Basset Certification
• State License to serve alcoholic beverages
