The Position:

The Electrical Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, growth, direction, and coordination of all activities within the service department. This position includes managing staff, assigning projects, and effectively communicating service activities to the Division Manager. Additionally, the Service Manager supports organizational strategies by setting clear departmental goals, ensuring accountability, growing and increasing the service departments revenue, and driving overall efficiency and performance. This position will Lead and manage a team of electricians and apprentices, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and up to code.

• Direct and coordinate all service and repair activities to ensure efficient operations.
• Prepare and review operational reports and schedules to maintain accuracy and efficiency in accordance with HTE requirements.
• Analyze internal processes and recommend or implement procedural and policy changes to improve service operations.
• Oversee service-related inventory, tools, and equipment to ensure adequate stock levels and proper maintenance.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to source parts, tools, and equipment necessary for service operations.
• Develop and implement protocols for handling emergency service situations, equipment failures, or unforeseen operational disruptions.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, actively work to expand the customer base through excellent customer service, and negotiate and maintain service contracts.
• Provide expert solutions to clients facing challenges with electrical systems, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Stay updated on code compliance regulations and industry requirements for residential, commercial, and industrial services.
• Address customer complaints and employee conflicts professionally, ensuring fair resolutions that align with company policies.
• Hire, train, coach, and, when necessary, issue corrective actions to maintain a high-performing team.
• Provide cross-training for management staff to strengthen leadership and operational capabilities.
• Conduct 30-minute OSHA training for all Service department employees to promote workplace safety, along with organizing and overseeing weekly staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company-wide initiatives.
• Track and analyze service department performance metrics, including efficiency, response times, customer satisfaction, and budget adherence.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Associates degree in business-related studies or equivalent level of experience preferred.
• 5 (five) or more years of related managerial experience a plus.
• Involved in IEC, Boma, and related organizations for continuing education and knowledge a plus.
• Training in related industry safety guidelines and principles such as arch flash and calculations required.
• Experience in estimating and dispatching skills and/or duties required.
• Familiarity with local municipality permitting processes required.
• Proficiency in intermediate computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and graphic applications.
• Masters Electrician License preferred.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read, comprehend, and write simple correspondence.
• Effective presentation skills for one-on-one and small group interactions with customers, clients, and employees.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs.
• Ability to apply logical reasoning and problem-solving skills to follow written and oral instructions and address standardized and variable situations.
• Capable of interpreting and analyzing technical instructions, data, and diagrams to draw valid conclusions.
