Our client is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations with primary oversight of MIG, TIG, and robotic welding processes. This role ensures production schedules, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery commitments are consistently met. The Supervisor will work closely with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and downstream operations to maintain throughput and support continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership capability, hands‑on welding process knowledge, and the ability to manage a fast‑paced, high‑mix or high‑volume production environment.

Responsibilities:

Production & Scheduling

  • Balance labor, workflow, and equipment utilization to eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve production issues.
  • Supervise daily production activities with primary responsibility for weld operations.
  • Track and report daily KPIs including output, efficiency, rework, and on‑time delivery.
  • Ensure production schedules are met across welding booths, robotic cells, and downstream processes.

Weld Department Oversight

  • Assist with weld‑process troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Oversee setup and operation of MIG, TIG, and robotic welding systems.
  • Support weld‑quality initiatives and collaborate with Quality and CWI personnel.
  • Identify opportunities to improve arc‑on time, reduce rework, and optimize weld‑cell utilization.

Quality & Compliance

  • Lead corrective actions for non‑conformances.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation and records.
  • Ensure first‑article inspections and in‑process checks are completed.
  • Promote adherence to company quality standards and applicable codes (AWS, ASME, ISO)

Safety & Environmental

  • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Monitor ventilation and fume‑extraction systems.
  • Ensure proper PPE usage and safe welding practices.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and address hazards promptly.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training.
  • Manage scheduling, attendance, overtime, and staffing levels.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop welders and production employees.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support cross‑training to build workforce flexibility.
  • Lead Lean/5S initiatives and workflow improvements.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades and process enhancements.
  • Track and analyze KPIs such as productivity, scrap, and labor efficiency.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Strong working knowledge of MIG, TIG, and robotic welding.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production reporting tools.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a production environment.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience with significant exposure to welding operations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Technical or trade‑school education.
  • Knowledge of WPS/PQR documentation.
  • Exposure to AWS/ASME/ISO quality systems.
  • Experience in high‑mix or high‑volume manufacturing environments.
