Job Description
This is not a general welding position. We are looking for an experienced structural steel fitter/fabricator who is strong in layout, blueprint reading, fit-up, structural steel assembly, and shop production.

Position Overview
The Lead Fitter / Fabricator is responsible for laying out, fitting, and assembling structural steel according to approved shop drawings.
This position requires someone who can take a set of drawings and parts and turn them into an accurate, weld-ready assembly with minimal supervision.
You must be able to understand piece marks, part marks, member orientation, dimensions, connection details, elevations, hole locations, copes, and assembly requirements.
As a lead fitter, you will also help set the standard for quality and productivity and assist less-experienced fitters and fabricators when needed.
The right person understands that accurate layout and fit-up are critical to keeping fabrication, welding, QC, and shipping moving efficiently.

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a true structural steel fitter/fabricator who takes ownership of their work and takes pride in producing accurate assemblies.
This is not a helper position and not just a welding position.
We need someone who can look at a shop drawing, identify the correct material and parts, lay out the member, fit the assembly, verify the dimensions, and confidently send it to welding knowing it is right.
The ideal candidate understands that a strong fitter doesn't just assemble steel—they help prevent mistakes, eliminate rework, and keep the entire shop moving.
Schedule
4-10s Schedule
Monday through Thursday
Optional overtime may be available depending on workload.
Pay
Competitive pay based on structural steel fitting experience and demonstrated ability.
Raises and performance-based bonuses are reviewed semi-annually.
