*Job Summary* Provide appropriate levels of supervision for all youth in care and ensure a safe environment free from abuse for all youth. Ensure basic needs of food, shelter, clothing as well as required religious, recreational, and educational needs are met. Work with case manager to ensure family contact, as appropriate. Assist with transport for medical, dental, or other appointments as needed. Maintain compliance with standards of care in the agency home, including financial responsibility to agency home budget and ensuring training requirements remain current and assistance is sought in areas of concern. *Essential Duties & Responsibilities* * Create a welcoming, safe, and child-friendly home environment for up to 6 youth, ages 0-17, but primarily teenagers. * Provide direct care of youth and provide sound supervision to children. * Meet the daily needs of youth living in the agency foster home including but not limited to nutritional, educational, medical, dental, recreational, cultural, transportation and social needs. * Assist in building childrens self-esteem/self-efficacy and provide opportunities for children to learn developmentally and age appropriate life skills, including daily hygiene and personal responsibilities. * Communicate and collaborate effectively with other agency staff providing services to minors in the home (ex. case managers, clinician, education specialists, program managers, etc.) * Provide structured and consistent discipline and guidance that is strength-based, age appropriate, and does not involve corporal punishment. * Help youth maintain a relationship with their family through phone calls and visitation, as approved. * Assist youth in providing skills and training related to preparation of being reunified with family or transfer into supervised independent living. * Participate and plan cultural, religious, educational, and recreational activities for youth. * Demonstrate the ability to recognize effects of past trauma on current behaviors, distinguishing behaviors from the childs character. * Comply with home visits/inspections, including unannounced visits. * Actively participate in monthly supervision/touchpoints with supervisors to discuss ongoing development. * Complete all necessary documentation to ensure compliance with funding requirements, licensing requirements and agency quality assurance standards. * Create, maintain, track, and document agency home budget and household spending. * Provide leadership to respite childcare staff who assist with childcare in the home. *Other Duties* * Participate in required annual training. * Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements. * Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities. * Adhere to policies related to boundaries with clients. * Attend required abuse risk management training. * Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. * Support the Missions, Values, and Vision of Catholic Charities of Dallas. * Other duties as assigned by supervisor. *Education & Training* * High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred. * Experience working with children, being a foster parent or parent required. *Knowledge, Skills & Abilities* * Ability to live-in agency-provided home * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; verbal and written communication skills in English. * Strong organization, time management and financial management/household budgeting skills required. * Experience working with refugee or immigrant populations and/or children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and trauma * Computer literate and experience with MS Office suite of products * Eligible for and able to become fully licensed as foster parents, in accordance with Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Placing Agencies * CPR/First Aid Training & Non-Violent Crisis Intervention as required by program; provided by the program. *Other Requirements* * *Background Check: * This position requires a criminal background check, child abuse/neglect check, and fingerprinting. * *A committed married couple willing to provide a safe and nurturing home for 6 youth, typically aged 14-18 years old. * * *Drug Screen: *pre-employment and random * *Driving Record: *Valid TX drivers license, cleared motor vehicle record, required $100K/$300K liability insurance & safe, reliable transportation for work-related usage * *Health:* Pre-hire TB screen.
