Job Description

Temporary Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (Maternity Leave Coverage) – Pediatric Practice

Location: Connecticut
Position Type: Temporary / Contract
Coverage Period: June 1, 2026 – September 30, 2026

About Our Practice

We are a private pediatric office with three board certified pediatricians and three Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to our patients and families. We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide maternity leave coverage.

Position Overview

This temporary position will support our clinical team during a staff member’s maternity leave. The role includes a training and orientation period in June, followed by independent clinical coverage in July, August, and September.

Schedule

• Regular Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (4 days per week)
• Optional: Saturday morning coverage available at time-and-a-half pay

Key Dates

• Training/Orientation: June 2026
• Clinical Coverage: July–September 2026

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pediatric care, including well-child visits, acute care, and chronic condition management
• Collaborate with physicians and APRNs to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
• Adhere to all clinical and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Licensed and certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Connecticut
• Current DEA registration (if applicable)
• Experience in pediatrics preferred
• Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $55–$65 per hour, commensurate with experience
