Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Development will play a key role within the Division of Institutional Advancement by supporting the development and implementation of fundraising strategies. This role will provide overall support of the development program which includes the annual giving program, micro fundraising campaigns, engagement events, prospect management and stewardship. This position will assist with writing and editing fundraising and/or marketing materials, proposals, gift agreements and impact reports and develop other supporting materials for specific fundraising activities. This position requires sensitive interaction with a variety of internal and external contacts.

Job Duties

· Develop and maintain a portfolio of 30-40 leadership annual donors.

· Develop leadership annual giving levels to attract donors and maintain their support.

· Track engagement with portfolio on a regular basis using the unit’s CRM and entering contact reports.

· Manage the relationship with the external consultant to schedule routine meetings and track fundraising appeals through all phases including idea, design, approval process and deployment.

· Develop adhoc micro fundraising campaigns or messages that fall outside the scope of the standard fundraising appeal schedule.

· Assist with developing donor engagement strategies and activities.

· Assist with writing proposals and agreements for fundraising initiatives.

· Collaborate with university departments, including Alumni Engagement to foster a cross-functional team approach to messaging and outreach.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requested Minimum Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant work experience is required.

Other Preferences for Consideration

Preferences: Four plus years of relevant experience is preferred.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser’s Edge NXT
