We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Associate Attorney specializing in Tort and Insurance Defense to join our dynamic legal team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for attorneys with a strong background in litigation, legal research, and diverse practice areas to contribute to impactful cases. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years insurance defense experience, possess comprehensive legal knowledge, and have exceptional writing and analytical skills. Experience in Federal Courts and familiarity with §1983 cases and appellate work is preferred. The ability to manage complex legal matters efficiently within a collaborative law office environment is essential.
*Duties*
* Represent clients in tort and insurance defense cases, including premises liability, car accidents, construction defect and §1983 civil rights matters.
* Conduct thorough legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases to support case strategies.
* Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda with precision and clarity.
* Develop case strategies through negotiation, settlement discussions, and courtroom advocacy.
* Manage case files from inception through resolution, ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements.
* Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to prepare for depositions, hearings, and trials.
* Maintain detailed documentation of case activities and communicate effectively with clients regarding case progress.
*Qualifications*
* Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and a licensed member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
* Demonstrated experience and interest in tort law and insurance defense litigation.
* Strong research skills with proficiency in Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools.
* Excellent legal writing and drafting abilities with attention to detail.
* Prior experience with litigation processes from discovery through trial.
* Exceptional negotiation skills coupled with the ability to analyze complex legal issues critically.
