Cake Decorator

Pay: Starting at $18/hr

Position: Full-time

Work: In Person

We are currently looking for great people who are looking for a challenging and long-term career. Audrey’s Fine Baked Goods is looking to add a retail cake decorator to our team. Our ideal cake decorator will have a passion for decorating and producing cakes to bring a smile and satisfaction to our guests.

Job Description:

We are looking for someone with at least one year's experience in filling, icing, and decorating cakes. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and has attention to detail. You will use your artistic talents to build and finish all specialty bakery goods, ensuring that every detail is just right. As a decorator, you will play a critical role in upholding our differentiators by providing outstanding service and delicious treats to our customers that meet our quality standards.

We are seeking a Retail Cake Decorator to join our team. You will be responsible for decorating cakes from start to finish.

Qualifications:

• Minimum One Year Experience icing and decorating cake
• AS Baking and Pastry Arts (preferred, not required)
• Understanding of basic food safety standards

Preferred Skills

• Must have experience in the baking environment
• Ability to work independently
• Strong artistic ability with an understanding of filling cakes, icing cakes and widespread cake decorating techniques specifically in a retail setting
• Focus on quality and an eye for detail
• Strong time management skills and work ethic
• Ability to work in a team setting
• Production of menu items for store front and special orders
• Quality assurance and controls
• Maintain cleanliness routines
• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, select pastries, and special bakery items.
• Learn new products and skills/techniques

 

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Standing/walking for at least 8 hours
• Hand use: single grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation
• Work requires the following motions: reaching, squatting, bending, and twisting
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
