Ferrane Bakery—Brooklyn Heights’ newest Scandinavian-inspired bakery and café—is seeking a skilled and hospitality-driven Barista to join our growing team. Our concept celebrates Swedish breads, pastries, and sandwiches crafted with the highest-quality ingredients, paired with an elevated coffee program built on precision, consistency, and care.
Since opening in 2025, we’ve quickly become a neighborhood favorite. We’re looking for someone who values craftsmanship, warmth, and teamwork—and who is excited to help create a welcoming, community-centered café experience.
Role & Responsibilities
As a Barista at Ferrane Bakery, you’ll be the face of our café, crafting exceptional espresso beverages and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for every guest. You’ll work with premium beans, innovative equipment, and a menu designed in collaboration with award-winning Swedish bakers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing espresso drinks, brewed coffee, and specialty beverages with consistency and accuracy
Providing warm, attentive, and genuine hospitality to all guests
Managing daily bar setup, restocking, and maintaining an organized coffee station
Understanding our menu and guiding guests through offerings, ingredients, and pairings
Maintaining coffee equipment and monitoring espresso quality throughout shifts
Collaborating with the bakery and FOH teams for smooth service flow
Supporting teammates, communicating clearly, and contributing to a positive work environment
Upholding cleanliness and safety standards across the café
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of professional barista experience
Strong familiarity with espresso preparation, milk steaming, and drink building
Excellent customer service skills and a genuine love of hospitality
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays (bakery open 7 days/week)
Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive movements
Reliable, communicative, and attentive to detail
