Job Description Summary

The MUSC Outpatient Neurology Clinic provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions. Our clinic supports patients across the continuum of care, offering diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management in a collaborative academic medical environment.
Our neurology team works closely together to prepare patients for appointments, assist with specialized in-office procedures, and coordinate care through phone calls and electronic communication. On average, we support a range of 100-150+ patients per day.

CMA Required Minimum Training and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.

CMA Required Licensure and/or Certifications (One Required):  

  • American Medical Technologist (AMT)
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • National Health career Association (NHA)
  • MedCA as a Certified Clinical & Administrative Medical Assistant (MA1)
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP),
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
