JOB DESCRIPTION:
Savage Const. Co. Is a locally owned business with 80 years’ experience in the construction business based in Wheeling, WV. Savage Construction is seeking a full time Construction Superintendent / Estimator to oversee and manage construction projects. The position will be responsible for estimating, management, budgeting, scheduling, and oversight of all aspects of construction projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare estimates by performing takeoffs from computer software.
· Ensuring that scopes and qualifications meet project needs
· Obtain quotes from various vendors and other subcontractors
· Oversee daily operations of construction projects
· Coordinate and schedule field employees and subcontractors
· Create and maintain project schedules
· Identify and mitigate potential issues with construction projects
· Attend all preconstruction and job meetings
· Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to owner satisfaction
· Have the ability to meet potential customers in a professional manner
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Excellent time management skills
· Ability to multitask and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
· Advanced knowledge in construction practices
· Proficient in interpreting blueprints and specifications
· Ability to run large and small projects
· Proficient in estimating all types of jobs
· Ability to use computer estimating software and overall computer skills
· General construction knowledge is a must with emphasis on sitework, site utilities and concrete preferred
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as detailed below:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
· Minimum 3-5 years' hands-on experience in construction industry
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook preferred
· Strong organizational and leadership skills
· Excellent communication skills
