Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled contract Sr. B2B Content Strategist and Writer to develop and execute content strategies that drive engagement, support sales and service teams, generate leads, and support revenue growth. This role combines strategic thinking with exceptional writing skills to create compelling content tailored for business audiences across multiple channels. This is a high visibility full time, in office role supporting the head of the Retirement business line but with direct reporting lines through the Marketing organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Design and implement a comprehensive B2B content strategy aligned with business goals, target audience needs, and buyer journey stages.

· Develop content strategies tailored for retirement plan sponsors (B2B) and plan participants (B2BC), ensuring clarity and compliance.

· Conduct in-depth audience segmentation and persona development to tailor content for specific decision-makers and influencers.

· Map content to the buyer journey, ensuring relevant assets for awareness, consideration, and decision stages.

· Plan and manage multi-channel content distribution, including blogs, whitepapers, case studies, social media, email campaigns, and webinars.

· Collaborate with subject matter experts to simplify complex retirement and financial concepts for non-technical audiences.

· Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to create content that supports lead generation, nurturing, and conversion.

· Develop thought leadership pieces that position the company as an industry expert.

· Establish and maintain editorial calendars, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with campaign objectives.

· Track and analyze content performance metrics (traffic, engagement, conversion rates) and optimize strategies based on insights.

· Use data-driven approaches and A/B testing to refine content for maximum impact.

· Maintain brand voice, tone, and style guidelines across all content formats.

· Write and edit content in multiple formats, including blogs, articles, social media posts, and email campaigns.

· Develop long-form content such as whitepapers, eBooks, and research reports to support thought leadership initiatives.

· Create short-form content optimized for digital channels, ensuring clarity and engagement.

· Produce executive-level thought leadership pieces that position the company as an authority in the retirement and financial services industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field with a preference for candidates with advanced degrees.

· 7+ years of experience in B2B content strategy and writing.

· Experience in highly technical writing environments, with proven ability to simplify complex topics for varied audiences.

· Strong understanding of SEO, content marketing, and lead generation principles.
