Salary: $49,000
Candidates who are unlicensed and possess 3 years of behavioral health counseling experience; will receive a $2,000 increase in salary after becoming licensed.
Seeking experienced clinician interested in a long-term addiction’s treatment model with an emphasis on an integrated team’s framework. Three years of experience desired.

About AWRC:
Arizona Women’s Recovery Center (AWRC); is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing substance abuse treatment to women through a variety of programs to address individual needs. All of AWRC’s programs focus on providing the tools and resources to assist women in living financially independent, drug and alcohol-free lives.
AWRC provides supportive and rehabilitative services to individuals and their families requiring assistance dealing with substance use issues, such as alcohol or drug use, mental health disorders and other co-occurring mental or physical health needs. The Counselor provides one-on-one and group counseling to women and their families requiring assistance dealing with substance use disorders. This position reports to the Director of Career Services. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Job Summary
Provides one-on-one and group counseling to women and their families requiring assistance dealing with substance use disorders. Clinical care is gender-specific and trauma informed to cater to the needs of the special population served. The clinical environment is collaborative, fluid, and team-based. The AWRC model embraces and encourages long term care to cultivate connection and healing. Clinicians regularly perform intakes, develops treatment plans, and monitors progress of clients. AWRC Counselor shall report to the Clinical Director. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Essential Responsibilities
The Counselor’s duties and responsibilities include:
Conducts client intake, screening and evaluation to assess and determine enrollment status, appropriate level of care and direct development of appropriate treatment interventions for women seeking substance use disorder treatment.
Provide mental health assessments, counseling, referrals, and intervention services.
Counsels chemically dependent persons and their families. Manages a caseload of chemically dependent clients, coordinating treatment needs from enrollment to discharge.
Facilitates case management tasks in concert with case management staff as needed.
Completes all necessary administrative paperwork within prescribed timelines and maintains high quality, confidential records.
Participates in ongoing assignment of appropriate placement of clients with various treatment needs.
Maintains general knowledge of community resources.
Supports and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff members in developing treatment plans and coordination of care.
Works ethically and is mindful of protecting client rights and confidentiality in therapeutic practice, documentation and coordination of care.
Recognizes and respects cultural aspects of treatment and individual differences.
Demonstrates professional and ethical behavior toward all client, staff and community stakeholders.
Records and documents client information in compliance with organizational and professional standards.
Ensures compliance with all necessary reporting requirements and billing procedures.
Adherence to all Arizona laws regarding use of seat belts and car seats with agency vehicles to ensure the safety of clients while transporting them.

Qualifications
The Counselor must possess the following qualifications:
One of the following:
Master’s Degree in a behavioral health field and a minimum of three year’s post Master’s experience in substance abuse counseling, or a Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree and a minimum of four year’s post education experience in substance abuse counseling required, and
· Licensed as a Substance Abuse Counselor in Arizona preferred
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
· Excellent interpersonal skills required
· A valid Arizona Driver’s License is required
· Must pass a background check
· Must pass a drug screening
· Must have a minimal of one-year AOD
· Physical Demands/Work Environment
· Ability to sit, stand, walk, drive a vehicle, lift up to 10 pounds
