This leadership role oversees front of house systems and staff and bridges communication between the pillars of the Taco Heart team. The ideal candidate is hands-on, people focused, and passionate about food and hospitality. Special focus will be put on raising the bar for the guest experience, growing our catering and events business, and inspiring staff to blow their own minds!

JOB MISSION

The mission of Taco Heart is to delight all those who come into contact with our food, our shop, and our staff through the welcoming and wondrous comfort of freshly-made flour tortillas. The FOH Manager’s mission is to support this goal by delivering an outstanding dining experience, exceptional customer service, smooth daily operations, and collaborative coordination with the kitchen, while driving financial performance, team morale, and community engagement.JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 year of leadership experience in a professional capacity. Catering Captain, Lead Server, Head Trainer, etc… are acceptable!
  • 2 years experience in hospitality front-of-house
  • Ability & desire to lead and oversee teams to achieve organizational goals and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Natural compassion and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for detail and going the extra mile
  • Comfort using basic tech platforms (email, POS, spreadsheets)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 

Staffing

  • Hiring
  • Training
  • Staff Reviews
  • Oversee accountability for Taco Heart standards including uniform, on-time reliability, execution of systems
  • Oversee accountability and growth for attitude, teamwork, and effort of employees
  • Inspire high morale of staff!
  • Leadership Development & Manager Meeting (shared with GM)

Customer Service 

  • Create amazing experiences in-store with your team
  • Field customer service inquiries and complaints on email, social media, and 3rd party review sites
  • Address guest concerns and complaints promptly and effectively
  • Maintain high standards of hospitality and food presentation
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and bussing during service

Kitchen Operations

  • Collaborate with kitchen staff on specials, food running, allergy protocols, and service timing
  • Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and food quality
  • Master the expo position (this will allow you to participate in giving breaks to the kitchen employees as well as understand with greater detail what goes into getting the food out of the kitchen and to the guests)

General Operations

  • Oversee daily opening and closing procedures
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of dining area
  • Manage supplies/ordering (shared with management team)
  • Retail and Beverage Inventory

Catering & Large Order Program

  • Oversee all FOH responsibilities for
    • Front of House Banquet Event Orders (FOH BEOs)
    • FOH systems and presentation
  • Maintain proactive communication with Kitchen to ensure successful execution and preparation
  • Events!
  • Sales Growth (shared with management team)

Maintenance (shared with management team)

  • Cleaning
  • Weekly, Monthly, Seasonal Maintenance
  • Equipment Repairs
  • Building Repairs

Financial Goals

  • Top Line Sales
    • Focus on non-taco items, specials
  • Labor
  • Cost of Goods
  • Paper Goods & Supplies
  • Weekly Reporting (shared with owner & management team)
  • Sales Projections & Strategy (shared with owner & management team)

Marketing & Events 

  • Social Media (shared with owner & management team)
  • Collaborations (shared with owner & management team)
  • Staff Appreciation & Morale (shared with owner & management team)
Schedule
  • 5 days a week - avg 45 hour work week
    • 2 floor shifts plus extra mgmt hours
    • 2 mgmt floor shifts
    • 1 office day
  • Manager meetings Thursday 8:30am
  • Weekend availability
  • Daily hours generally 5:30-2:30, 6-3, or 7-4
  • Schedule may shift slightly based on holidays, events, or team coverage
Compensation
  • Salary based on experience starting at $52k annually
  • 1 week paid vacation plus Thanksgiving, Christmas, and any other days we decide to be closed
  • 5 sick/personal days - if unused, can be redeemed for pay at year-end at current salary
  • Comp Tab for personal use - can be applied to friends and family for special occasions
  • After 3 months of employment, benefits to be added if desired:
