The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a motivated Assistant Grower to support our crop production team in Holland, Michigan. Reporting to the Grower, the Assistant Grower plays a hands-on role in ensuring plant health, quality, and readiness for market. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Assist with all crop care activities including watering, fertilizing, spacing, pruning, and product movement
Monitor plants daily for pests, diseases, and growth performance; escalate issues to the Grower
Apply pest control treatments under supervision and maintain accurate spray logs
Ensure proper product placement in the greenhouse to optimize space and plant health
Support quality control checks for orders prior to shipping
Maintain greenhouse cleanliness and follow all safety standards
Assist in inventory tracking of fertilizers, chemicals, and grown materials
Ensure optimal greenhouse conditions, including ventilation, lighting, temperature, and humidity control
Communicate effectively with team leads and grower on daily priorities and changes

Qualifications

Previous experience in a greenhouse, or horticulture setting preferred
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for plant care
Ability to follow directions and escalate issues appropriately
Physically able to work in a greenhouse environment (lift up to 50 lbs, high humidity, standing for long periods)
Flexible to work extended hours on Saturdays or evenings during peak periods
Fluent in English (Spanish is an asset)
Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within the team
