About the Role
The Lead Generation Specialist supports the Commercial team in identifying, pursuing, and managing new business opportunities. This role ensures that administrative and operational tasks are completed efficiently to support proposal development, client engagement, and overall business growth. This position sits in the Charlottesville, Virginia office and reports to the EVP, Business Development.
What will your job look like?
Conducting research on potential clients, sponsors, and industry trends to support business growth initiatives
Assisting in the preparation and formatting of proposals, presentations, and capability statements
Maintaining and updating the Salesforce CRM database with client information, leads, and business development activities
Supporting coordination of client meetings, conferences, and industry events
Assisting with tracking and reporting on proposal submissions and follow-up actions
Helping prepare marketing and outreach materials in collaboration with internal teams, this including shipping materials
Coordinating with cross-functional departments (e.g., Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and Finance) to gather input for proposals or client requests
Performing general administrative and clerical support as assigned
What will you need to succeed?
Experience in business development, marketing, or administrative support preferred
Exposure to the clinical research or life sciences industry is a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent follow-through on assigned tasks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently
Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and client service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) a plus
Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment
