We are seeking a full-time experienced marketing and hospitality-focused Membership Engagement Manager to drive membership satisfaction, retention and growth through exceptional engagement strategies at our private racquet clubs - Kings Athletic Club, Hudson River Tennis Club and The Racquet Lounge. The role focuses on creating a welcoming, community-oriented club culture through development and implementation of programming, communication strategies, and personalized outreach efforts that align with our values and service standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Member Relations

    • Build and maintain personalized relationships with all members, anticipating needs, playing preferences, and lifestyle interests
    • Maintain detailed member profiles including game level, preferred sports, scheduling habits, and key milestones
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries, concerns, and requests across both social and sporting dimensions

    Onboarding

    • Design and execute a white-glove onboarding experience inclusive of racquet sports orientation — skill assessment, pro introductions, and court booking tutorials
    • Lead all new member gifting
    • Pair new members with compatible playing partners or groups early in their membership journey
    • Ensure new members are fully activated socially and on-court within their first 30 days

    Retention & Renewals

    • Proactively monitor both social engagement and court utilization to identify at-risk members
    • Develop personalized outreach strategies that reconnect disengaged members through programming, clinics, or playing opportunities
    • Track and report on membership retention KPIs to senior leadership

    Events & Programming

    • Curate a dynamic calendar that balances racquet sport events — round robins, mixers, ladder leagues, member tournaments, and pro clinics — with social, wellness, and cultural programming
    • Collaborate with the Director of Racquet Sports and teaching pros to align programming with member skill levels and interests
    • Create pathway programming that encourages beginners to develop confidence on court and deepen their club engagement
    • Gather post-event feedback to continuously elevate both sporting and social programming quality

    Playing Community & Court Culture

    • Actively cultivate a vibrant playing community by facilitating match-ups, group play, and inter-member leagues
    • Oversee or support a member matching system for singles, doubles, and mixed play across tennis, pickleball, padel, or squash as applicable
    • Foster an inclusive and competitive culture that appeals to both recreational and performance-focused members

    Referrals & Growth

    • Leverage the natural social nature of racquet sports to cultivate a strong member referral culture
    • Partner with leadership to convert clinic attendees, guest players, and junior program families into full members

    Communication

    • Define and steward the brand voice across all channels
    • Manage all club Instagram accounts with high-quality and regular posts
    • Send weekly newsletters to members for each club highlighting upcoming programs, announcements and events

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Act as the connective tissue between the Racquet Sports, F&B, wellness, and events teams to deliver a seamless member experience
    • Ensure the post-match and social experience — clubhouse, dining, locker rooms — consistently reflects the standard of the club
    • Lead regular cross-departmental briefings on member needs, court feedback, and programming opportunities

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience within members club and/or marketing for a luxury brand
  • Obsession with creating a world-class experience for members and their guests
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of tennis is preferred
  • Competency with creating Instagram, web content and newsletters for a luxury brand
  • Passion for remaining current on communication technologies
  • Canva experience preferred
  • Ability to travel to Southampton bi-weekly during the summer months
  • Weekend and holiday availability as-needed
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
  • Comfortable with basic technology (booking software, phone, email)
  • Prior experience in marketing and communications preferred
  • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long extended periods of time.
  • Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as walking, bending & standing).
  • Must have full schedule availability.
