Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years NICU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Provide specialized nursing care as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), supporting newborns with critical health needs in a Level III NICU setting. This contract position offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in a 16-bed unit equipped with advanced technology and a supportive team environment. Location: Joplin, Missouri, a vibrant city offering cultural attractions like the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts, outdoor activities at Cunningham Park and Grand Falls, and convenient shopping at Northpark Mall. Enjoy a community known for its natural beauty and welcoming atmosphere. Key Responsibilities: * Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neonatal patients with a focus on high-risk and complex cases, including bubble CPAP and high flow oxygen. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage care plans and high-risk deliveries. * Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR system. * Adhere to facility policies regarding scheduling, including 3x12 day shifts (7:00 am - 7:00 pm) with every other weekend and call requirements. * Utilize and maintain GE medical equipment to ensure patient safety. * Uphold infection control standards, including mandatory flu vaccination from November 1 to April 1 (exceptions require approval). Qualifications: * Registered Nurse (RN) license. * Minimum 3 years experience in a Level III or higher NICU. * Certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP required; NIHSS preferred. * Skilled in neonatal respiratory support techniques and high-risk deliveries. * Strong communication, analytical, and organizational capabilities. * Team-oriented, optimistic, and proactive personality. * Compliance with dress code: black scrubs only, no unauthorized t-shirts. Additional Information: * Patient ratios typically 1:2 or 1:3. * Opportunities to float to mother/baby or pediatrics areas as needed. * Contract role with guaranteed 36 hours weekly. * Flu vaccination required for travel between November and April.
