General Summary:
Hope Health is a faith-based, Federally Qualified Healthcare Center providing quality healthcare to the Ellis county community. We offer Adult Medicine, Women's Healthcare, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, Psychiatry and Dental services.
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife to join our Women’s Health Department at our Waxahachie location. The ideal candidate will have experience in women’s health and/or family practice, the ability to work independently, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive women’s health services, including preventive care, gynecologic care, prenatal and postpartum care (as applicable), ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and providing patient education.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Specialized in the care of adolescent and adult women only-restricted population base.
Perform physical assessment of patients using observation, inspection, auscultation, palpation and percussion.
For CNM: provide prenatal, postpartum, gynecologic, and family planning care.
Treat patients following standardized protocols and clinical guidelines.
Refer patients to physicians for consultation when clinical exam/findings are not covered by standardized clinical protocols.
Obtain and evaluate complete medical histories of patients and provide counseling and education to women on acute, chronic and preventative conditions.
Assist women in utilizing health resources available.
Plan, promote, demonstrate, recommend and coordinate high standards of medical practice.
Manage patient and daily care programs in the area of specialty.
Compile patient medical data including health history, treatment plans, and results of physical examination, etc. and record in electronic medical record.
Prescribe medications under the delegated prescriptive authority of a physician.
Direct professional and ancillary healthcare staff during treatment of patients.
Perform other duties as assigned.

High degree of knowledge and competency in advanced nursing practice.
Requisite skills and ability to perform certain medical tasks as assigned.
High level of problem solving skill to better serve patients and staff.

Ability to utilize computers for data entry and information retrieval.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and emergency situations successfully.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to implement and evaluate operational and administrative processes.
Experience/knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations and standards associated with the delivery of care in a Federally Qualified Health Center
Demonstrated understanding and/or experience working in a patient-centered medical home (PCMH) environment
Demonstrated understanding and/or experience working in an integrated delivery environment.
Demonstrated expertise in relevant medical practices, protocol, trends and best practices in clinical areas assigned.
Demonstrated knowledge and success in effecting overall clinical operations.
Proficiency in the use of a computer, software packages, and office machines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas
Certified Nurse Midwife
Master's degree in Nursing
Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registrations III-V
Minimum 5 years experience as an outpatient Women's Health NP/Midwife
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
CPR/BLS Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an FQHC setting
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Familiarity with EHR systems and team-based care models
