***This position is ONSITE 5 days/week in Northern NJ and is an ONGOING CONTRACT role***

Robert Half's retail client is seeking a highly skilled Art Director with strong expertise in packaging design and production processes from concept through completion. This role combines creativity with technical precision and requires experience in managing the full lifecycle of packaging projects.

Art Director – Packaging (Long-Term Contract)

Location: Northern Bergen County NJ (Fully Onsite)

Duration: Long-term contract (potential for full-time conversion)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)

Remote Flexibility: One remote Friday per month;

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine innovative packaging design concepts for multiple brands.
• Ensure adherence to brand identity guidelines across all creative outputs.
• Manage pre- and post-production processes, including proof reviews and vendor coordination.
• Create 2D and 3D renderings of packaging and displays.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing and creative teams to deliver impactful designs.
• Oversee visual design for trade shows, collateral, and product photography.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field.
• 10+ years of design experience in packaging (CPG, beauty, or related industries preferred).
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong typography, layout, and design skills.
• Deep knowledge of printing processes and production workflows.
• Excellent time management, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented, authentic, and approachable.
