JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Pulmonology & Critical Care Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Longview, TX Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Fri, Sep 04, 2026 Ongoing Shift Schedule: 7a 7a (24-hour call) Call Type: In-House Call Response Time: 30 minutes Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency COVERAGE DATES Fri, Sep 04, 2026 Tue, Sep 08, 2026 Fri, Sep 25, 2026 Fri, Oct 02, 2026 Fri, Oct 16, 2026 Tue, Oct 20, 2026 Fri, Oct 30, 2026 Wed, Nov 04, 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 15 patients/day Admissions: 3 Rounding: Both FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Athena/ Medhost Support Staff: PA/NPs: 4 PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required: Medical: Cardiac arrest/failure, respiratory arrest/failure, sepsis, metabolic disorders, renal failure, OD/Poisoning, drowning etc. Surgical: Pre- and post-operative general, vascular, orthopedic, neuro, and cardio/thoracic Trauma Burn Insertion of PA catheter Insertion of IABP (Intra-aortic balloon pump) Temporary pacemaker ICP evaluation and management Dialysis catheter placement Diagnostic/therapeutic taps Lumbar puncture Paracentesis Pulmonary function testing (Performance of, Interpretation) Ventilation management (Invasive (ETT/NT/Tracheostomy), Non-Invasive (BiPAP/CPAP Chest tube insertion Pleurodesis Central line insertion Arterial line insertion Thoracentesis Bronchoscopy (Diagnostic With Endotracheal biopsy, Diagnostic With Transbronchial biopsy, Diagnostic With Bronchial alveolar lavage, Therapeutic with foreign body extraction, Therapeutic with stent placement, Therapeutic with laser) Pleural biopsy JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified required Licenses: Licensed in TX or Universal License (IMLC) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, ABLS Fellowship: Required Duties & Responsibilities Provide 24-hour in-house call coverage for pulmonary and critical care patients. Manage ventilators and respiratory failure, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation. Perform bronchoscopies, thoracentesis, and other pulmonary procedures. Round on ICU patients and manage critical care needs. Respond to emergencies and provide consults as needed.
