OmniOn Power is currently hiring a Principal Power Electronics Architect – Front End Power for Data Centers, Telecom and Industrial segments. This role will be based in our Plano, TX headquarters and will report to the Senior Director R&D, Front End Power.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study new technological trends and introduce high‑power density and highly efficient topologies, architecture and design concepts for Front End Power product lines.
  • Own and drive New Technology Introduction (NTI) projects as expert, guiding the project teams to deliver high quality and reliable concepts to minimize risks in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
  • Develop the Product Architecture design, considering all product specifications and design aspects such as topology selection, control loop algorithms, hardware/firmware hand‑offs, efficiency, EMC, power density, and thermal management.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to develop customer‑specific and new platform/product high‑quality technical solution proposals in a timely fashion.
  • Perform assigned NTI and NPI project design reviews and drive design quality.
  • Address technical challenges, providing timely resolutions for assigned NTI and NPI projects while working seamlessly with project teams.
  • Train, mentor and coach assigned mentees to improve their technical expertise and competencies.
  • Visit and collaborate with customers, sales teams, product managers, segment leaders and other R&D leaders to support growth and initiatives.
  • Support Intellectual Property (IP) assessment as needed and enable filing IP in a timely fashion.
  • Effectively communicate project status and results to stakeholders and external customers.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • 10+ years of hands‑on single and three‑phase rectifier and DC/ DC converter design and development experience for low, medium and high power (kilo‑watt range) levels for AI Data Centers, Telecom and Industrial segments (preferable).
Desired Characteristics
  • Previous experience of high‑power density and highly efficient Power Electronics/Power Conversion topologies for AI Data Centers, Telecom and Industrial applications.
  • Conversant in electrical and embedded hardware (DSP and micro‑controllers & interfaces) designs and able to review and discuss circuit design choices with design teams and test engineers.
  • Previous experience and strong understanding of customer requirements/specifications, able to translate into robust technical proposals and architecture designs.
  • Good understanding and experience of EMI/EMC, power supply control loops and stability, thermal design, safety and certification compliance rules affecting power electronics and their applications.
  • Working knowledge of standards affecting the Power Electronics industry including IEC/EN, UL, ANSI, IPC, ISO and similar standards.
  • Fundamental understanding of the use and application of communications protocols including PMBus, CANbus, Modbus, PoE and others.
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong design creativity and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Results‑oriented; able to deliver on commitments and follow through.
  • Involved in a good number of NTI and NPI projects during the career journey.
  • Strong design, analysis, decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work globally with cross‑functional teams to drive high quality product designs and solutions.
  • Familiarization with the NTI and NPI design processes.
