Support Point Eight Power in being an integral part of our clients’ value chain by bringing best in class thinking and service to the oil and gas, marine, and energy markets. The Process Control Department is responsible for the integrity of Point Eight Power operations by maintaining and establishing quality standards as governed by policies, procedures, and regulations. The overall objective of this position is to ensure Point Eight Power’s manufactured products meet or exceed Point Eight Powers’ quality standards and practices.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Saturday 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM | OT is required
Responsibilities:
Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to client specifications.
Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
Conduct As-Built Quality Reviews to ensure our products meet or exceed client expectations in terms of quality, uniformity, and reliability upon final inspection.
Facilitate the timely and effective resolution of product quality issues by serving as a liaison between the Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Managers and/or Shop Foreman.
Ensure Point Eight Power’s quality and reputation by coordinating the UL labeling of products and assisting during UL inspections and other third-party inspections.
Uphold impeccable quality levels by working closely with the Manufacturing Engineer to continually develop an understanding of Point Eight Power Policies & Procedures and ISO 9001 standards.
Engage in systematic listening and responsiveness with partners and key clients by assisting the Manufacturing Engineer in handling complaints in a timely and effective manner.
Decrease operational costs and risks by actively assisting in the development and maintenance of policies that enhance process compliance and ensure product quality.
Qualifications
Education/Certifications
High School Diploma or GED, Required.
ASQ certification in lean manufacturing, six sigma, preferred
ISO Internal Auditor Certifications, preferred
Experience
1+ years of experience performing quality control of structural, Electrical assemblies, or Fabrication, Required.
Intermediate computer skills, Required.
1+ years of experience applying ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements, preferred.
Must have the ability to travel between all three facilities in Belle Chasse, LA & Bay St. Louis, MS. Required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Equipment Maintenance: Knowledge of Point Eight Power products and equipment. Use of tools such as wrench, screwdrivers, ratchets/sockets, tape measures, and torque wrenches.
Technical Services: Extensive knowledge of processes related to our products.
Safety Compliance: The ability to recognize unsafe work habits. Understanding of OSHA regulations.
Verbal & Written Communication Skills: Intermediate skills required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Math Skills: Intermediate skills required, including ability to calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area, etc.
Computers and Electronics: Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming such as Microsoft Office Business Suite.
Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Quality Control Analysis: Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
ISO 9001 Quality Management System: knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System Requirements.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This is an FLSA Non-Exempt position and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state labor laws. This position is classified as non-exempt based on job duties that do not meet the exemption criteria outlined by the FLSA.
The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week; overtime may be required, including evenings or weekends, based on production demands.
Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to moving machinery, dust, and industrial noise
Noise levels range from moderate to high; hearing protection may be required in designated areas
May be exposed to varying temperatures depending on the season and production processes
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and hearing protection as applicable
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift)
Regularly required to lift and/or move materials up to 50 pounds; team lifts used for heavier loads
Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting to handle materials or access equipment
Repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions may be required depending on the task
Frequent use of material handling equipment such as carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts (if certified)
Must have the visual acuity to inspect materials and read job orders, labels, and production instructions
