Job Description Job Description Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) Speech-Language Pathologist is sought for a contract position with a public school district in La Mesa, New Mexico. This role primarily serves a welcoming elementary school setting with a dedicated team of SLPs, offering a supportive and collaborative work environment. Key Responsibilities: * Manage a caseload of approximately 60 students, including three structured communication classrooms (SCCs). * Provide ongoing speech-language therapy, focusing on current therapy needs without the immediate concern for compensatory services. * Utilize or develop skills in AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) as needed. * Collaborate with other speech-language pathologists and school staff to support student progress. Preferred Qualifications: * Valid New Mexico state licensure as an SLP is required before starting; candidates must have already applied or possess this license. * Approval of a Professional Educator Development (PED) certificate from the New Mexico Department of Education (can be pending at start). * Bilingual abilities in Spanish are a plus but not mandatory, as bilingual support is already present in the team. * Willingness to learn and grow professionally, especially in AAC technologies. * Experience in school settings highly preferred. Location and Work Environment: * Based in southern New Mexico, the position is located near scenic areas including White Sands National Park. * El Paso, Texas, is approximately 46 miles away, making it an accessible location for candidates from the region. * The district prides itself on being small but very supportive, fostering professional collaboration.
