Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A summer contract opportunity is available for a licensed school nurse to provide essential health services to students during the summer session in Bethlehem, PA. This role focuses on promoting student wellness and ensuring a safe, supportive environment conducive to learning and developmental growth. Key Responsibilities: * Assess and manage student illness or injuries promptly, administering first aid as necessary * Deliver preventive health services addressing students physical, mental, emotional, and social needs * Educate students, parents/guardians, and school staff on various health-related topics * Maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student health concerns * Implement and document the districts school health program in compliance with guidelines * Foster a safe, healthy school atmosphere for all attendees Qualifications: * Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN or RN) in Pennsylvania, with a preference for Registered Nurse credentials * Certified Educational Specialist by the Pennsylvania Department of Education * Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred * Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications * Ideally, 35 years of nursing experience, particularly in pediatrics or school health settings Physical Requirements: * Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, and reach during work hours * Effective communication skills (vision, hearing, speech) * Capability to safely lift or carry 1025 pounds * Mobility to navigate school buildings and event spaces independently Schedule and Location: * Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM * Position available July 6 through July 30 * Onsite placement in Bethlehem, PA This contract position is ideal for nursing professionals passionate about fostering healthy school communities during the summer months.
