Thoracic Pathology Physician Opportunity in Pittsburgh, PA
The Division of Anatomic Pathology of UPMC Shadyside Hospital, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (UPSOM) is seeking a candidate for an Assistant, Associate or Professor in the appointment stream academic clinical track with expertise in Thoracic Pathology.
Key Highlights
- Join a robust group of 131 Pathologists system wide with 3 in the thoracic division
- In addition to teaching and sign-out responsibilities, the candidate would have ample opportunities for translational research utilizing the state-of-the-art resources of our molecular genomic laboratory and digital pathology laboratory.
- The department will provide startup resources and protected time to assure a successful academic career.
- Experience in head and neck pathology would be beneficial but not required.
- The Thoracic Pathology Center of Excellence (COE) consists of three Pulmonary Pathologists and is known for its expertise in neoplastic and non-neoplastic lung diseases, along with transplant pathology.
- This COE processes over 5,000 thoracic cases per year and serves as a local, regional and national consultation reference laboratory including telepathology.
- It also offers a one-year ACGME accredited Thoracic Fellowship program.

Qualifications
- Must have an M.D. and Board certified in Anatomic Pathology with specialty training and academic interest in thoracic pathology
