Medical Assistant Job Description
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the ambulatory setting, working closely with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. This dynamic position requires a unique blend of clinical and administrative skills, as you will be responsible for performing assigned tasks of direct and indirect care under the supervision of a physician or assigned supervisor.Key responsibilities include participating as a member of the healthcare team, accepting delegation from RNs or physicians, and carrying out designated activities within the scope of unlicensed healthcare personnel. Medical Assistants in Hematology/Oncology are hired to Back-Office MA or Rooming MA roles, with opportunities for rotation to learn duties and responsibilities across all MA roles.Job Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with the care team, serving as a customer service agent promoting positive patient experiences. This role involves assisting with pathology and imagining requests, handling incoming and outgoing clinical calls, medication refills, faxes, and prior authorizations.
Front-Office/Rooming MA Role:Maintain clinic rooms, obtain vital signs, work closely with the multi-disciplinary team for clinic flow, serve as a customer service agent, and work directly with patients supporting procedures.
