Compensation:

$150,000

Responsibilities:
  • 10+ years of experience practicing criminal defense
  • Manage a full caseload of misdemeanor and felony matters from initial appearance through final resolution, ensuring consistent progress without requiring micromanagement
  • Conduct regular court appearances in Monroe County (Key West, Marathon, Plantation Key) and coordinate travel efficiently
  • Handle all aspects of motion practice, including drafting, filing, and arguing substantive and procedural motions
  • Prepare and conduct depositions, witness interviews, and evidence review with strong attention to detail
  • Lead plea negotiations with prosecutors and advise clients on case strategy, risks, and outcomes with clarity and empathy
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients, keeping them informed and supported throughout the legal process
  • Review and analyze discovery promptly, flag key issues, and coordinate with the team for follow-up investigative steps
  • Work within established firm systems and help improve workflows that create a more self-managed, efficient practice
  • Collaborate with the firm owner on case strategy, trial preparation, and long-term improvements in operations
  • Participate in occasional marketing or community-facing activities that enhance the firm’s visibility and reputation
  • Uphold the firm’s values of dignity, respect, professionalism, and exceptional client service in every interaction
Qualifications:
  • Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
  • Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
  • Candidates must have passed the bar exam
  • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
