Correctional LieutenantCarrizozo, NMFull-timePay: $45,760.00/annuallyThe Lincoln County Detention Center— Carrizozo, NM, under the management of Correctional Solutions Group, LLC., is seeking to hire a Correctional Lieutenant to perform supervisory functions in the facility as it pertains to the security and administrative control of the facility. Work involves scheduling, training, and supervising staff, as well as maintaining order and discipline among inmates, detainees, and offenders. This position works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:* Organize and conduct inspections and searches of inmates, detainees, and offenders and their living and work areas.* Prepare records and reports as assigned.* Maintain log and verify inmate counts.* Foster a team effort among correctional officers providing support, motivation, training, and assistance to them as required.* Report and investigate all unusual occurrences.* Direct the work of employees to ensure effectiveness.* Supervise daily routine of the security section.* Enforce post orders and ensure that correctional officers are familiar with shift assignments.* Supervise and direct searches for contraband and provide security; court, feed, and supervise inmates, detainees, and offenders in housing, work and other areas accessed by stairs, steps, and ladders; and perform security of various assigned areas involving long periods of sitting and standing, and climbing stairs, steps, and ladders to reach the assigned areas.* Supervise and provide custody and security of inmates, detainees, and offenders including observing actions of inmates, detainees, and offenders, squatting and bending to perform “pat” and “strip” searches of inmates, detainees, and offenders; restraining and securing sometimes assaultive inmates, detainees, and offenders; and transferring and transporting inmates, detainees, and offenders by walking or riding in various vehicles such as trailers, vans, buses, etc.* Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:** High School Diploma or equivalent* At least three years of experience in a correctional institution required.* 2 years plus experience in a correctional setting and 1-year experience in a supervisory position preferred.Must be mature and able to command the respect of both staff and inmatesJob Type: Full-timePay: From $45,760.00 per yearSchedule:* 12 hour shiftWork Location: In person
