Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their collaborative, multidisciplinary consulting engineering team in Austin.

THE OPPORTUNITY

You'll contribute to electrical system design from concept through construction, mentor emerging engineers, and collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other design professionals on complex projects.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Design & Engineering:
- Prepare electrical and lighting plans, specifications, and technical reports for industrial, higher education, healthcare, and commercial projects
- Design electrical power distribution systems including medium-voltage distribution, generation, and protection systems
- Develop lighting system designs for diverse building types and applications
- Perform electrical modeling and analysis using SKM, ETAP, or similar software
- Apply knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC) to all designs
- Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and related design software for documentation and coordination
- Ensure designs comply with local codes, standards, and construction practices
Project Leadership & Coordination:
- Lead electrical engineering projects from concept through construction administration
- Coordinate across multiple disciplines (architectural, mechanical, structural, civil)
- Work collaboratively on interdisciplinary design teams
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Conduct site visits for project observation and field verification
- Interface with local contractors, architects, and construction teams
Business Development & Growth:
- Support business development and marketing initiatives as needed
- Participate in proposal development and client presentations
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and design partners
- Represent the firm at industry events and professional organizations
Team Development & Mentorship:
- Mentor junior engineers and EIT staff
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and technical training within the firm
- Support firm-wide growth initiatives and practice development
- Foster collaborative, team-oriented culture
WHAT YOU BRING
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university
- Minimum 7 years of relevant electrical engineering consulting experience
- Focus on power industry electrical engineering and design
- Experience with industrial, higher education, healthcare, and/or commercial projects
- Proficiency with electrical modeling software (SKM, ETAP, or similar platforms)
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC)
- Strong knowledge of electrical and lighting system design for diverse building types
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams
- Leadership capability for project coordination across multiple disciplines
- Willingness to travel for occasional site visits
- Ability to work in the office four (4) days per week
Preferred:
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering (strongly preferred)
- 7-12 years of consulting engineering experience
- Experience with medium-voltage distribution, generation, and protection systems
- Lighting design experience
- Knowledge of local Austin/Texas codes and standards
- Established relationships with local contractors, architects, and construction professionals
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and related design software
- Track record of successful project leadership and delivery
