Broadband Telecom Services is a full-service telecommunications construction contracting company with multiple locations throughout the state of Texas.

JOB CLASSIFICATION: FULL-TIME

LOCATION: Aledo, Texas

PAY RATE: Hourly (Non Exempt)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Broadband Telecom Services, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic to ensure the maintenance, preventative care, and repair of equipment for our Aledo market location.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in servicing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fleet vehicles and heavy equipment related to construction.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in maintaining, inspecting, and repairing fleet vehicles and construction-related heavy equipment.
  • Proficient in a diverse range of vehicles and heavy construction equipment, including bore machines, trenchers, forklifts, backhoes, bucket trucks, and trailers.
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be able to uphold and ensure adherence to company safety procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS-INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING

  • Conduct work and provide subject matter expertise on all fleet vehicles and heavy construction equipment.
  • Communication with BTS leadership regarding heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues to address them promptly, effectively, and safely.
  • Restore fleet vehicles and construction heavy equipment as required.
  • Offer recommendations for equipment enhancements as necessary.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is conducted on vehicles and equipment.
  • Provide technical leadership in equipment technology.
  • Ability to receive guidance from the reporting manager and execute tasks in accordance with instructions.
  • Implement all company-wide policies and safety regulations.
  • This position entails exposure to outdoor elements (rain, snow, sleet, and heat).
  • Ability to travel to various market locations is required.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor and offers general assistance to colleagues as directed.

EDUCATION & LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License and a safe driving record.

LANGUAGE/MATHEMATICAL SKILLS & REASONING ABILITY

  • Must be able to use written and verbal communications in English language.

REASONING ABILITY & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to work aloft.
  • Must have manual dexterity and the ability to utilize various hand tools and test equipment.
  • Must be able to drive a truck or van including a truck/van with an aerial lift
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to type on a computer, and utilize a smart phone to read and update prints.
  • Must be able to kneel, crawl, push, pull, bend, stoop, lift and dig.
  • Must meet and maintain Companys safe weight policy.
