JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Clinton, NC 28328 Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: Jun 29, 2026 Jul 01, 2026 Shift Schedule: 24-hour call coverage (7a 7a) On-Call Shift Schedule: Beeper call, 20-minute response time required Call Type: Beeper Call Response Time: 20 Minutes Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Travel and lodging provided (travel cap $500); malpractice insurance covered by vendor PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: Varies Case Mix: Wrist, ankle, and hip fractures; I&D; long bone trauma stabilization and transfer FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: MediTech PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required: Arthroscopy Total Joint replacement (Hip, knee, Other (excludes hip and knee Joint revision or repair (Shoulder, Hip, Knee, Other (excludes shoulder, hip, and knee Hand (Tendon release/repair, Peripheral nerve surgery) W/ Instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar) W/O Instrumentation (Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar) Percutaneous disc surgery JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified required Licenses: Licensed in NC DEA: Active NC DEA required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, ABLS Other Qualifications: Must be vaccinated; credentialed with Medicaid/Medicare and enrolled in PECOS; must reside within 20 minutes of facility while on call; provide NPI with bid Duties & Responsibilities Provide 24-hour call coverage for orthopedic surgery services Respond to ED consults, closed reductions, and admissions (0-3 consults, 0-2 ED visits per day) Perform surgical procedures including wrist, ankle, and hip fractures and I&D (0-2 surgeries per day) Stabilize and transfer long bone trauma cases Maintain timely on-call response within 20 minutes of hospital
