Poughkeepsie law firm is seeking a paralegal with experience in transactional work (particularly commercial lending) and real estate.
_*Responsibilities:*_
* Assist with the drafting and review of residential and commercial real estate contracts of sale, leases, deeds, settlement statements and other closing documents. Review title reports, municipal searches and other diligence relevant to real estate closings. Must have familiarity with County Clerk recording requirements and Westchester PREP recording system. Experience with NYC ACRIS system a plus.
* Regular communications with clients, lenders, title companies, municipalities, attorneys and other involved parties on status of transactions, deadlines, outstanding diligence items, etc.
* Coordinating residential and commercial closings.
* Prepare closing packages (pre and post).Assist with the drafting of real estate and other transactional documents, with an emphasis on (i) representation of lenders in commercial lending transactions and (ii) commercial and residential real estate.
* Preparation of form notes, mortgages, security agreements, guaranties, contracts of sale and addenda thereto, and other transactional documents.
* Preparation of attorney reviewed correspondence.
* Coordinate state/county filings and recordings of legal documents and track receipts.
* Providing general administrative assistance to supervising attorneys.
* Effectively utilizes the firm’s document storage programs to maintain complete and accurate files.
_*The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:*_
* At least 3 years of experience as a transactional real estate paralegal representing banks, purchasers and sellers of real estate.
* Ability to prioritize, multitask and handle many files at once.
* Must be detail oriented.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook with the ability to learn a practice management system. xkmhxrz
* Proficient in Perfectlaw a plus
* Notary Public a plus
* Paralegal certificate preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
