Core Responsibilities- Administer precise radiation treatments to cancer patients according to physician-prescribed protocols and treatment plans
- Operate advanced radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators and imaging systems, with technical proficiency and safety awareness
- Position patients accurately using anatomical landmarks, imaging guidance, and immobilization devices to ensure treatment accuracy
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting treatment delivery, patient responses, and any complications or concerns
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and dosimetrists to verify treatment plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor patient condition during treatment sessions and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions or emergencies
- Implement and maintain strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure
- Perform daily quality assurance checks on radiation therapy equipment to ensure proper functioning and accuracy
- Educate patients about their treatment process, potential side effects, and self-care strategies to enhance compliance and comfort
- Participate in patient care rounds and interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment progress and adjust plans as needed
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in radiation therapy through continuing education
Must-Have Requirements- Valid active Radiation Therapist certification or license required for the state of Idaho
- Minimum two years of professional experience as a Radiation Therapist in an oncology setting
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with linear accelerators and radiation therapy treatment planning systems
- Strong understanding of radiation safety principles, including ALARA protocols and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively in team environments and interact compassionately with patients
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during treatment sessions
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel to and from the assignment location
- Residency requirement: Must reside at least 60 miles from the Nampa facility
- Ability to obtain any necessary facility-specific certifications or clearances
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in clinical documentation
