Job Description

Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic – Chip Seal & Slurry Operations
Pay: $35–$40/hour (DOE)

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair chip seal and slurry seal equipment, as well as support the company’s fleet. This role ensures all road maintenance and fleet equipment remains reliable, safe, and operational with minimal downtime.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair chip seal, slurry seal, and related paving equipment
• Maintain and repair fleet vehicles including trucks, trailers, and support equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrains
• Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, spray systems, conveyors, mixers, and pumps
• Complete field and shop repairs to keep crews and fleet operational
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
• Follow all safety, DOT, and OSHA requirements

Requirements:

• Strong diesel, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently in field and shop environments
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
• Welding and fabrication experience a plus
