Position Summary:
Atera is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Tournant Cook to join our culinary team. This role requires a strong foundation across kitchen stations, with an emphasis on precise execution of meat and seafood cooking. The ideal candidate has a deep respect for ingredients, demonstrates unwavering attention to detail, and thrives in a team-oriented, clean, and disciplined environment. Cook must be able to properly cook proteins such as fish, shellfish, duck, and beef. Cooks on our team also serve the guests, so being comfortable with guest interaction is a key trait for qualified candidates.
There is a great deal of opportunity for the right candidate to move into a sous chef role if they can show initiative, teamwork, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work flexibly across kitchen stations, stepping in where needed to support a smooth and consistent service.
- Demonstrate advanced skill in butchery, fish fabrication, and accurate cooking of proteins, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish.
- Uphold Atera’s standards for cleanliness, organization, and sanitation at all times.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and leadership.
- Manage mise en place efficiently, maintaining readiness for service.
- Contribute to a positive, focused, and collaborative kitchen culture.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in a fine-dining or Michelin-starred kitchen.
- Advanced knowledge of meat and seafood handling and cookery.
- Strong knife skills and attention to fine details in preparation and plating.
